I am a 1 year old mother to Riku (not his real name), a 4 year-old wife to Hubsu (not his real name, thank god), a 9 year-old marketing professional (on a baby break) and a 31 year old woman.
This is my first blog and it’s about something that’s become our life’s mission, which is:
1. Helping our child realise his intellectual potential i.e. be the smartest he can be
2. Helping build a strong character – fair, kind, confident and disciplined
3. Above all, helping him be the happiest person he can be
Over the last year I have come to realize that what we need to raise our kids boils down to three things – love, knowledge and an unnatural interest in a little person’s poop. The first and last come naturally (well, almost) as soon as we become parents. But knowledge needs work, constantly.
The more aware we are, the better parenting decisions we make. But the problem with parenting information is that there is just too much of it and it’s all over the place. And what makes it tougher is that parents today are among the most time-starved species.
Enter Raising Happy Minds! My aim with this site is to build a repository and community of shared experiences, useful news articles, reviews, thought provoking blog posts and videos regarding the intellectual, emotional and psychological growth & well-being of babies and young children. No in-law bashing, no ‘mom-petition’, no judgements – just pure, meaningful information on helping our children be smart, happy, well rounded humans.
Happy Parenting to us!
